World Veterinary Day 2022
What is World Veterinary Day, and Why was it created?
In the words of the World Veterinary Association, “The 2022 World Veterinary Day will celebrate efforts from veterinarians, veterinary associations and others to strengthen veterinary resilience and bring attention to this important cause”.
In the case of 2022’s World Veterinary Day, the important cause is improving veterinarian health and wellness, upon the backdrop of the stressful, difficult time that existed during the pandemic. This time and situation sheds light on the need for such a focus!
Our superstar veterinary professionals treat animals that we love to help keep them in optimum health and alleviate pain, illness and other concerns. Like the pets they treat, they too need to be looked after properly.
RACS is a company positioned to work with veterinary health organizations and providers on a day to day basis. We champion this cause and want to help others recognize the importance of this year’s theme.
The World Veterinary Association wants to bring attention to the wellness and health needs of veterinary professionals as they have also endured a difficult past few years. A resilient, healthy, well looked after veterinary professional can perform their needed work at a higher level, and help us all to see great outcomes in pet health and in preserving mental, emotional and physical health of providers.
RACS Supports Veterinary Professionals and organizations
We love animals! We love working with veterinary professionals! Our diverse clientele includes veterinarians, staff and treatment specialists, clinics and associated staff and other supporting service professionals, like animal lodging and rehabilitation facilities. Our raised animal flooring and associated product lines help these professionals and organizations to treat animals by providing cleaner, more durable, easier to maintain flooring solutions that prioritize animal comfort and safety. You can view our products HERE.
It’s because of our close relationships that we have built over the decades, that we are so invested in our partners’ success. Healthy, wellness-minded professionals are a priority for our industry, and we support this initiative by the World Veterinary Association wholeheartedly!
How can RACS help you celebrate World Veterinary Day?

Why do we do what we do?
We have a long history of working with animals, and incorporate our love for the veterinary industry and the animals they treat, and the professionals we service. It’s that love of animals and long history of working with them that helps push us forward to make a quality product year in and year out.
We’ve met many amazing veterinary services professionals, and are proud to have them as customers.
How does RACS play a part?
While we are not necessarily on the frontlines of building resilience in the veterinary provider community, we do contribute in passive ways through thoughtful design, and industry awareness. We also build products that are made to improve handling of animals, and by supporting the industry in broad ways. Below you can find out a few of the ways we work to improve quality of life for animals and animal service providers, including those in veterinary fields.
How can we help you as a service provider or specialist?
We design products that can reduce potential for workplace accidents and injuries around the veterinary professions. Our products do this by providing stable platforms for work on animals (a raised platform up to 6” also allows easy flushing away of animal waste); these components can be built in sections easy enough to lift with one hand.
The designs offer easy cleaning and sanitization which can reduce potential for transference of diseases and bacteria, and by being built to handle heavy weights while maintaining durability.
Our products are designed to hold more than expected weights, and have been built to improve handling of animals in the areas of sizing, safety inclusions and overall build quality.
RACS products are built to reduce maintenance and improve health conditions because of the way they can be sanitized and cleaned easily. The products we sell are autoclave safe – so you can maintain exacting sterilization protocols if desired.
How can we help you promote the proper housing, treatment and comfort for animals you work with?
Not only do those cleaning benefits come into play, but our flooring products feature openings that are sized to maintain comfortable footing for smaller paws, while allowing feces and urine to pass through. This means they stay cleaner longer and keep bacteria away from animals better than other alternatives.
The “softer” feel of the polyvinyl coating is comfortable for animals from a temperature and cushioning perspective. Paws won’t touch hot or cold surfaces, but the strong steel core still contributes to the overall strength of the product.
Part of the overall wellness for practitioners can be derived from knowing as a provider that you are offering the best, most comprehensive treatment to the animals you work with. Reduction of stress and anxiety for animals and professionals in the veterinary practices can be enhanced through peace of mind that you are using a time-tested, proven design that is made to a specification beyond industry competitors, generally. This is above and beyond the actual physical properties of the product.
Why RACS flooring makes sense
- We can build custom solutions using a modular, easy to maintain overall design
- We offer many standard designs and sizes already
- Our robust build quality can span distances of up to 10’ long in some situations
- The mesh allows most of the fecal matter to fall through onto the floor below and then be washed down the drain quickly without needing to remove the animals.
- We offer a product that is easy to clean and maintain using industry standard methods, cleaners and technology, including autoclave disinfection
- Plastisol coated steel is highly resistant to rust, mildew, rot and other environmental concerns, including UV rays
“We listen to our veterinarians when they explain what it is they are looking for, then design a flooring solution to meet their needs.” – Blake Adams, RACS Sales Manager
We can truly work as a partner for your organization to ensure you and your furry customers’ needs are met in the way you intend to meet them. Our team has proven time and again that we care about our clients and their clients as well.
Some things you may not know about RACS and company involvement in the Veterinary world
Ridglan Animal Care Systems is a division of ADA Enterprises, Inc. We have been in the plastisol coated flooring business for over 45 years. We were the manufacturer for RACS while owned by Dr. Ralph McGrew prior to purchasing Ridglan Animal Care Systems from him at the time of his retirement in 2010. We are proud to continue with the excellent work that he began with veterinarian facilities.
Our roots in the community are deep and broad. We want our customers in the veterinary service industry to know we value them, their wellbeing, and their health, as well as their success.
Our history and our work to improve continually should also show our commitment to our animal customers as well. We are committed to thoughtfully trying to improve wherever possible to continue to deliver on the needs of animals of all types that come in contact with our products. We are proud to support those we have worked with previously, and those with whom we are yet to meet, that can benefit from our work in the industry.
As a leader in the animal flooring business, we invite you to look at our product offerings and reach out to our team to see if we can help you solve a problem, or plan for the future.
And to those who work so hard to provide for our beloved pets, we are proud to support your mental health, wellbeing and physical health through support of this year’s World Veterinary Day theme.
