Cage Grates for Animal Health and Comfort
Choosing Cage Grates
When your patient’s health and comfort are your top priorities, it’s crucial that you choose cage grates that are designed to offer exactly that. While recovering from procedures, veterinarians want to provide the best possible surface for the small animals in their care. Placing them in stainless steel cages will keep them safe, but the solid cold floor is not the most favorable for comfort. That’s where we come in. Our Comfort RACS cage grates are designed to fit in the cage, lifting the animal off the floor.
We call them Comfort RACS for a couple of important reasons. First, the perforated openings in the surface allow urine and feces to fall through to the floor below. Because of this, your patients can stay clean and dry. Secondly, our antimicrobial poly-vinyl coating applied to the steel raised floor offers a warm and comfortable surface to lie on, not to mention that it is softer on their paws.
Caretakers have also mentioned that they benefit from the lighter weight. Because the Comfort RACS cage grates are made from perforated steel, they don’t weigh as much as standard expanded metal racks. Technicians find it much easier to remove the raised cage floor for cleaning. Aluminum floors are also lightweight; however, they carry a bigger price tag.
Comfort RACS are coated after they are built so that the floor and the legs are all one piece. There is no exposed steel. Furthermore, you will only be giving up a couple of inches of headroom. Our customers think it is well worth it in favor of providing the best in animal care and comfort.
Standard sizes are available to fit most manufactured cages, and custom sizes are available.
